Making Waves Project
Founder, Making Waves (https://www.projectmakingwaves.com)
September 2022 till present
The twenty-first century presents a unique epoch in the history of biodiversity. Struggling with climate change, the ensuing instabilities in the biosphere have caused disruptions in the lifestyles of multiple species and destroyed the symbiotic relationships that organic forms require for their sustenance. Marine ecosystems find themselves in especially precarious conditions as global temperatures rise and the ocean bed becomes increasingly inhospitable. The prevalence of large-scale human activities like industrialisation which channels toxic wast into the ocean makes matters worse. Man-made disasters such as the Deepwater Oil Spill in the Gulf of Mexico occurred in 2010 due to an explosion in an oil rig – wreaking havoc on notonly millions of marine species but coastal communities dependent on the oceans for their survival.
It is to address this collective crisis of the earth’s present and future that Jayveer founded the Making Waves Project in September 2022. It is a social project that seeks to create awareness of marine pollution and conservation in the urban Indian coastal landscape, focusing on evolving perspectives on ocean sustainability and community-centric solutions to address the urgent issue of global climate change. Employing creative educational models such as the Making Waves Curriculum, the initiative reviews and analyses innovative sustainable technologies, eco-conscious solutions, and research perspectives into issues affecting marine ecosystems in India. Functioning as a means to examine the efficacy of solutions implemented to reduce marine contamination and adulteration, it explores their environmentally friendly impact in marine and naval industries across Mumbai.
Apart from founding the Making Waves Project, I participated in various academic as well as non-academic activities that depict his zeal for intellectual and social engagement. I partnered with Sukhad Foundation NGO to aid their ongoing efforts via an online fundraiser.

Volunteer- Covid-19 relief efforts & robotics education
I spearheaded a fundraiser campaign and raised rs 4 lakhs for daily wage workers during Covid-19 and taught the basics of robotics and robot building to around 15-20 students at Dharavi School during First Tech Challenge.
Head Boy, Student Council – January 2023 – Present
I was appointed as assistant head boy ( 2022-23) & Head boy ( 2023-24) of the student council; responsible for acting as a liaison between student body and faculty. I planned, coordinated, arranged and held various inter house competitions during this period.

I was also appointed sub Head of the Aqua Activism Club at my school, where I helped lead initiatives focused on ocean conservation and water sustainability. I organised awareness campaigns, supported student led projects, and coordinated activities that connected marine science with real world environmental action.
I was the sub Head of the Sustainable Innovations Competition at the Heal Our Planet Earth event, where I helped organise and evaluate student driven solutions focused on environmental sustainability, climate action, and real world impact.
