Restrain your bamboo spine

Nationals IRIS & international ISEF in grade 10 in 2024 Developed a non invasive wearable prototype to screen and monitor seronegative spondyloarthropathies such as ankylosing spondylitis and non radiographic axial SpA. The system uses force sensitive resistors and an IMU mounted on a chest belt to map thoracic motion, reconstruct chest expansion from acceleration data, and estimate breathing rate, depth, and force. Designed to enable earlier, accessible detection of spinal inflammatory disease without reliance on advanced imaging.

This project won an Honorable Mention in Math at the S.T. Yau Award, the Diana Award, the special award from the US patent and trademark office($500) at ISEF and Gold Crest Award.
